A Few Vacation Pics ...

My summer has been crazy busy so far.  Here's a quick photographic overview of my family's trip to California, where we visited from June 25 - July 10 ...

Meeting Wendy from Literary Feline (left) and her husband, and Amy from My Friend Amy
(right) We had a great lunch and a fabulous chat, despite the World Cup cheering section just behind Wendy ...

Hubby, me, and Kiddo at the aquarium at Legoland

Kiddo pointing out the sights during our audio tour of the aircraft carrier USS Midway in San Diego Bay

lunch in Seaport Village, San Diego - yes, this is what I get from them every day ...

Kiddo chillin' by the pool in my sunglasses

margaritas and Mexican-style shrimp cocktail, courtesy of my wonderful husband

hubby and his aunt, who always lets us stay with her when we visit (We love you Aunt Donna!)

me and gap-toothed Kiddo having a blast at Disneyland

learning to draw Goofy and Chip at the Animation Studio

Kiddo took on all the biggest rides this year - he laughed through Tower of Terror while I screamed and even went on California Screamin, a roller coaster that goes upside down - he's my little adrenaline junkie

I don't think Kiddo was meant to be the king ...

we thoroughly enjoyed the new World of Color show - and that roller coaster? That's the one Kiddo went on earlier in the day ...

Mickey Mouse in his Steamboat Willie costume and Kiddo in his Jack Skellington Mickey ears

our final afternoon in Old Town Temecula

We had a wonderful time! I'm missing that fabulous weather now that I'm back in the heat and humidity of the East Coast.  Can't wait to go back again!

Next week I'm hoping to do a post about Kiddo's amazing experience at Victory Junction Camp in North Carolina, and maybe some of the hilarious videos of his Michael Jackson impersonations that he regaled us with in California ...

Looks like you all had an awesome time. Kiddo is braver than I am...I wouldn't go anywhere near the Tower of Terror! Hubby had to go alone.

Your trip looks like so much fun!! I'm not surprised Kiddo takes on those rides - after all he's been through, he's a warrior!

Looks like a fabulous vacation! Thanks for sharing the pictures. I don't get to go on a big vacation this year, so I'm living vicariously through all the ones other bloggers are putting up :)

Heather, thanks for sharing your vacation pics. What a great time you guys must have had! Your two handsome men must be great travelling companions. I love Disneyland and I'm not surprised that your little guy loves the rides.

Really nice picture of you, Wendy and Amy. You guys look like you're having a great time!!

Great pictures - thanks for sharing them!

It's heating up in SoCal right now, but we don't have the humidity. That was probably my least favorite thing about our East Coast vacation :-).

Glad y'all had a great vacay. If I had ridden the Tower of Terror it would have turned into the Vomit Comet. One of the bad things about getting older. lol

Fun stuff! I love seeing "familiar" pictures, places where I have taken nearly the exact same picture! So cool to see you with Wendy and Amy,too.

I don't like the "big" rides much, except and Disneyland and then I'll ride everything, even the Tower of Terror!

Anna - He had SO much fun on it though!

bermudaonion - Aw, thanks. :)

Kim - I didn't think we'd be going either, so this was a VERY pleasant surprise. I'm glad you enjoyed the pics!

Kay - Hopefully I'll get to meet YOU one of these days - blogger get-togethers are always a blast. And I'm so blessed in my two guys. :)

Florinda - I pity all the West Coasters that come to the East Coast unprepared ... at least you knew what you were getting into!

Serena - Wendy was a pleasure to chat with - hope you get to meet her one day.

The Single Gal - Remind me not to ride it with you! LOL

Suey - I know, right?! I love seeing places I've been in other people's photos - it is such fun!

Alyce - Thanks, we had a great time. :)

you did LEGO land!! Jealous!

Heather J. said...

Amanda - Oh yeah, he's definitely adventurous! But he isn't a daredevil so that is a HUGE relief. :)

Monica - Kiddo LOVES it there!

Oh My Gosh. What a fantastic trip, Heather!! Looks like the kiddo had a blast (any shock there?). Isn't Disney the happiest place on earth?

Trish - Oh yes, it definitely is! Hope you are enjoying your summer as much as we are. :)
