Age 30+ ... A Lifetime of Books: Blogiversary and Secret Santa

Who AM I?

That's a good question ... I'm a daughter, a wife, a mother, a sister, a friend ... and there's so much more! But for the purpose of this blog I am a first and foremost a reader.

When I was in the first grade I read The Hobbit and my love of Fantasy took root. By the time I left elementary school I had completed the entire series as well as The Belgariad by David Eddings. Seventh grade brought me the beginning of Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time series ... which is still not complete. High school and college introduced me to the classics and to history. My reading disappeared for several years when I had a child. Then I started a book club and it came back in full force.

Today I read anything that catches my eye ... at the moment that includes historical fiction, fantasy, literary fiction, and any titles I find interesting. I'm always on the lookout for the next great find ... any suggestions?

Blogiversary and Secret Santa

It almost slipped my passed my notice that today is my blogiversary! I started this blog on this date in 2008 - it seems like forever ago. Thank you to all my wonderful readers who've stuck with me, especially over the past few weeks of sporadic posting. You all are wonderful! *hugs*

Also wonderful is the gift I got my from my Secret Blog Santa this year. I saved it to open on Christmas day and it was a real treat. Here's a look at what I received ...

The gift included a bag of Hershey's Kisses, a bookmark, a book thong, note cards, Christmas socks (which are currently in the laundry and hence not in the picture), and - the coolest thing ever - Mad Hatter Tea from Disney! I'm a tea fanatic and a Disney fanatic so this was the perfect gift for me.

A huge thank you to Christi the Teen Librarian for doing such a great job as my Secret Santa!

1. Your Mom-Son book club has brought back so many wonderful memories of the hours my son and I spent reading...I wish we'd thought of a book club...maybe we could have one still!
