Frustration

I'm reading THE TRIUMPH OF DEBORAH and really enjoying it ... at least I was. Now I've lost it - AAAHHH! Don't you hate it when that happens? I had been carrying it in my bag wherever I went for the past week or so. I remember taking it out and thinking "I'd better put this back" ... and of course I didn't. I don't want to pick up another book yet because 1) I was really into this one, and 2) the author is waiting on my review.

Any suggestions as to where I should look? Just kidding. But I would like to know what YOU do when this happens. Do you keep searching for the book? Do you move on to something else? What do you do?!

Oh no! I'd be in a panic!

As soon as you start another the book you are looking for will probably show up. At least, that's what always happens to me!

Wow, I'd go nuts! I guess I'd check the local libraries or else just give in and buy another (a sure way to make the first show up!)

O no! Hmm...lost things always end up being found in our tiny apartment so I guess I'd keep looking and in the meantime grab another book. Hmm.

I'd buy another copy.

OMG the horror! I've never lost a book, so I can only imagine. Poor girl. HOpefull it will turn up. Did you look under the bed or in the couch cushions?

My son lost a review copy of Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw and I had not read it yet so I was extremely frustrated over it. We never did find it but that was because he could not for the life of me, retrace his steps.

Do you think yours is still in the house or that you left it somewhere else? I would give it a weekend to come up and then get another copy.

UPDATE: No, I have not found the book. But I AM convinced that it is in my house ... or possibly under the seat in my car (just thought of that spot - I'll be checking it right after work). Regardless, I started another book at lunch today; it is the book for next month's book club so there is a deadline to finish it. I will continue to search for TRIUMPH though - it has to be here somewhere!

LOL--something like this happened to you before, right? :) Hope you find it!

Trish - Yup ... last time I was sick and drove off with the book on the roof of the car. I'm lame, I know. :)

I was going to suggest looking in your car. Did you leave it at a doctor's office? Under the bed? In your purse? Lunch sack? Kiddo's backpack??

Maybe it decided to go on a little outing to visit other books at the bookstore and it will be back home when you get there. :-D

softdrink - I like the idea that it might be visiting other books ... then I wouldn't feel so bad! ~LOL~

First off, this author is really nice. She'll understand. Just order another copy or hit the library... finish it as soon as you can and move on.

:)

I really really liked this book! I also reviewed it for her.

eeeks...I know. I was reading My Father's Paradise and enjoying it and then suddenly I couldn't find it anywhere. I've moved on for now but then I too have to review the book. And besides I cannot buy or borrow it form the library as it's still not available here :)
