Are you intrigued by ancient Egypt? By the pyramids, the Pharohs and the Queens? I certainly am, and so is author Michelle Moran. She's written three books set in that world, all of which have received excellent reviews. I have yet to read them but all three are on my TBR list.
Michelle is also an active participant in the book blogging world. She does guest posts, interviews, giveaways, and even has a page on her website just for bloggers. (And wait until you see what she's written for Book Blogger Appreciation Week!) Her blog, History Buff, is a wonderful resource for information about archeological discoveries around the world. I've been a subscriber to it for a long time now.
I'm looking forward to receiving a review copy of Michelle's latest novel, CLEOPATRA'S DAUGHTER. Cleopatra's and Ceasar's children have fascinated me since I watched the show ROME on HBO so I'm very excited to read this book.
Are you interested in Cleopatra? Or maybe in other female rulers of ancient Egypt? Then I have got some wonderful prizes for you!
First prize is a hardcover copy of CLEOPATRA'S DAUGHTER.
Second prize is a paperback of THE HERETIC QUEEN.
And third prize are these gold-plated Cleopatra earrings.
Sounds pretty good, right?! Read on for your chance to win.

Great contest you are running!

another one for the pyramids - I can't help but be in awe at how those stones were put into place!

Wow, fabulous contest! I first became intrigued with ancient Egypt through 2 stories - one by Agatha Christie (Death Comes As the End) and then the story of Joseph. Oh, and I can't forget the classic film Cleopatra w/ Liz Taylor! :) The culture has just always seemed so foreign and mysterious - an oasis, an empire the blossomed in the desert. Would love to read more of Michelle's works!

The technology that existed way back then is absolutely astounding. Thanks for the great giveaway.
I am intrigued by the absolute amazing architecture and advancements that were in place in Egypt. It is pretty stunning how many pieces of history are still so well preserved. They were pretty intense!
Thank you for the giveaway opportunity!

I have read the First book "Nefertiti".What intrigues me the most is the the way the author has brought Egypt in life. It was fascinating.

The Sphinx is really awesome! Actually, all their architectural work is superb. How they managed to build the pyramids in those tech-less times is still a mystery to me.
I am also intrigued by their elaborate mummification rituals.

I've always been fascinated by ancient Egypt. What I find so interesting is the way they were able to build so many amazing things without modern tools. I also love the art, how every little thing means something different, for example, one type of crown means king of Lower Egypt and another type means king of Upper Egypt.

the pyramids have always been a fascination of mine...would love to actually see them one day.
I have not read any of Ms Moran's books...thanks for the opportunity to do so :)

I have found Egypt interesting since elementary school, when I built the Great Pyramid out of sugar cubes for a project. I also LOVED the YA book The Egypt Game. Its all so mysterious and cool. I would love to win on of these books!
Thanks for this lovely giveaway. The amazing culture and history of ancient Egypt has always captivated me. The Nile and the boats that continue to thrive and do business as well as people living on them for their livelihood. Of special interest to me are the enthralling novels which capture this lifestyle. Death on the Nile by Agatha Christie. saubleb(at)gmail(dot)com
I've been seeing a lot of good reviews for this author's books around cyberspace. :-)
Hi, I'm new. I like your site and this giveaway is something else. I love the way they dressed then. I would have loved to live in that time. I have not read any of Michelle's books but they are certainly on my list.

Thanks for the great giveaway. The whole culture of Ancient Egypt facinates me.

I've always been intrigued by Egypt and how the slave labor built the pyramids. It's crazy to think of the amount of time and effort went in to building all of those and how many people gave their lives to the glorification of a few kings.
I've never read any of Michelle's books, but they look great. Thanks for sharing.

The pyramids definitely! I think it's very interesting, albeit sad, how they were built and how freakin' huge they are!
I love reading books on Egypt. Everything from the Pyramids to the Pharohs. I've always thought it would make a wonderful vacation.
I haven't read any of her books.

Hieroglyphs, the mummification process and Egyptian mythology. These completely fascinate me!
I'm reading Nefertiti right now and really enjoying it.:)

Ancient Egypt - there's so much about it to love! I find the hieroglyphics fascinating, especially how (I think?) there are actually three different languages... or something like that... I took a paper on Egypt a few years ago but have forgotten too much stuff about it!
Obviously the pyramids are always fascinating. I'd love to read a layman's account of his life during the time of Moses. I don't know if Moses existed or not (is he one of those dubious possibly-fake historical characters, or is there evidence behind his existence?) but either way, it'd be a really interesting read. :) I know that isn't a direct answer to the question, but I guess... I find that time period - when Moses was meant to be around - pretty interesting. (Although from what I've heard he could have been around anywhere within a 300-year period.)
In eighth grade, I learned about Ancient Egypt for the first time. The topic intrigued me so much that I ended up with a degree in history with a focus on ancient civilizations.

No need to enter me (I still need Michelle's first book; I'm behind!). I'm dropping in to say thanks for the e-mail. I've got this posted at Win a Book!
I haven't read any of Michelle's work but I'd sure like to. The pyramids amaze me completely; I really want to see them in person one day...

I have been intrigued by ancient Egypt since I was a child. At age 11, I checked out a big book (from the adult section) about King Tut's tomb discovery and it's treasures. I have been hooked ever since. I wrote my high school term paper on ancient Egyptian burial customs! I guess the fascination is because for such an ancient culture, they were so sophisticated and smart. The pyramids, the sphinx, every legacy they left behind is a testament to a culture that endures even centuries after it disappeared and continues to enthrall the world.
Thanks for the contest! =)

I have read Michelle's first book and really enjoyed it.
I think it is the architecture of Egypt that intriques the most. That they built the this without all of the modern technology that we know.
I'm embarrassed to say I have not read one of your books yet, although this one is on my wish list. I have always loved and imagined Egypt.. the Nile, the pyramids, sphynx, camels and all. I am now a senior but my lifetime friends from high school were also very interested and even though I couldn't go I shared my friend's thrill when she managed to make the trip this past January after more than 50 years of hoping! Of course I am a fan of Elizabeth Peters, and when I read your books I just know I will be a fan of yours as well! My email: bgelean at xplornet dot com. Note the missing "e"s in xplornet. I don't blame you for using word verification!
The pyramid intrigues me. How was it actually built? I'm really impressed.

I think their mummification method is intriguing. Their dead bodies somehow survived for 3000+ years and didn't even decay. Ancient Egyptians really were skillful at mummifying.

I have always been amazed at the Great Pyramids of Eygpt and how they engineered the mechanics of how to build them so many years ago. Would love to win! Thanks.

What intrigues me about Eqypt is how exotic it is. The HF in this time period has such a different feel than what I usually read.

I have always wanted to go see the Pyramids! They are truly fascinating. I watch every show on the Discovery Channel with anything to do with Egypt.
I would so love to win this book. I have them both on a waiting list at the library.

I'm obsessed with the engineering behind the pyramids and other structures in Egypt. I can't seem to wrap my head around how they figured out so much about geometry so quickly.

Since I saw the King Tut's tomb exhibition in Memphis probably 20+years ago, I've been interested in the child king and his life and death.

Everything about ancient Egypt fascinates me, but I've always been most interested in the Egyptian idea of the afterlife, like worldly goods with you...
Thanks for the giveaway!
