The Poisonwood Bible

I completely forgot to post that I read this book last month for my book club. Actually, it was the 2nd time I read it and I loved it both times. I posted about our dual meetings for this book here and here.

I did a ton of background research for this meeting, since the book covers a part of the world we weren't familiar with (namely The Congo/Zaire). I also got tons of info from Bookclub in a Box. Marilyn and the staff over at that site do an excellent job with the guides they put together. Has anyone else ever used their guides? I'd love to know what you think.

I'll be reading this book for the 1% Well-Read challenge. I'll definitely be looking at your discussions about it, as well as the guides you listed. Thanks for the extra info!

I loved this book as well and would love to re-read it one day. Have you read any of her other works? Your bookclub, by the way, sounds fantastic!

Thanks Trish! I do love my book club ... my girls call me "the book club madam" LOL. As for Kingsolver, I've also read The Mermaid Chair but that's it. I've had Animal, Vegetable, Miracle on my TBR list since I saw her read an excerpt on Book TV - it looks excellent!
